The upcoming Folsom Street Fair has been dupped the "grandaddy of all leather events." Regardless of if you are into leather or not, it's definitely something to check out if you have the opportunity. This fair is similar to the Dore Alley Street Fair that I attended a little while ago, but much, much bigger. While dore typically has about 8,000 people attend, Folsom has upwards of 100,000. Big, indeed. While Dore is more of a neighborhood type thing, with mostly gay men; Folsom has become so infamous that it's truly a mixed blend of people, straight, gay, men and women.

Just like the Dore fair, many men use the day to expose themselves and show off. Being a leather event, it is conducive to wearing all kinds of leather and fetish gear which can expose and show. Of course, there are the guys who don't wear any leather and just strip buck and completely naked and show off that way as well.
The Folsom Street Fair will be on Sunday, September 24, 2006 in San Francisco. The office webpage gives details about the Fair, accomodations and other useful information; but it doesn't even touch the topic of being naked (sorry). If you're interested in getting naked at this fair, you've got two things working in your favor. 1) San Francisco has a most liberal law regarding public nudity (which is pretty much ignored at this event anyway) - which allows you to be nude in public so long as you're not 'lewd'. Meaning, nude is fine, but erect and jerking off (lewd) is not ok. Again, at this fair, trust me, there are guys hard and jerking off, sucking other guys and no one really even bats an eye for this one day and event. 2) There is such a history of guys being nude at this Fair, you're going to be in good company.

If getting nude yourself isn't something you're up for, it's always worthwhile to go and see the other nude guys showing off. The crowd isn't what I'd call "pretty", so if you're looking for beautiful, model men this isn't gonna satisfy you. The crowd that gets nude, typically is the older, San Francisco "bear" types, and while some may be 'hot', they're not what I'd call pretty boys by any stretch of the imagination. Plus, they'd probably rip me a new one if I called them pretty anyway, hehehe.
The one drawback to being nude at this event is the abundance of photographers taking pictures and sharing them across the internet. It's a nice thing for those of us who are not going (I am not) so we get to see all the nakedness from their perspective; but not so fun if you want to go, get naked but not have yourself plastered all over the Internet.
